Screenshots

BODY//KNOT is a short biological-horror arcade game built entirely around a continuous 32×32 host interface. Move a segmented parasite with the keyboard, cross your own living chain to close knots around immune cells, and use the mouse Focus to gather larger captures. A Cutter can telegraph and sever your body, leaving necrotic scars behind. After the host recognizes the hand controlling the parasite, the cursor becomes part of the threat: bait the Observer’s attacks away from your chain while completing one final knot around the Host Core. The game is free, desktop-first, playable without login, and includes captions, volume controls, reduced motion and contrast options.

Controls

  • WASD or Arrow Keys — move

  • Space — dash

  • Mouse — gather cells and distract the Observer

  • Esc — pause

Game Designer Mind usage note

The Game Designer Mind was a recurring design collaborator across the project lineage that evolved from PATCH32 into BODY//KNOT. After an early prototype failed playtesting, it reframed the fantasy around an infected 32×32 system and an immune response, explored reactive cable topology, and repeatedly reviewed the design for strategic depth, first-90-second clarity, accessibility, minimalism and Game Jam judge impact.

Several Mind-recommended prototypes were implemented and later rejected when testing showed they were too passive or shallow. BODY//KNOT retained the strongest foundations—parasite pressure, living connections, severance, constrained short-form play and a system that becomes visibly alive—while the final self-knot mechanic, Focus cursor, eye reveal, Host Core finale, implementation and release decisions remained under human direction with support from ChatGPT and Codex.

The linked evidence contains selected screenshots from the Game Designer Mind conversations, including the immune-system redesign, reactive cable topology, first-90-second review, accessibility decisions and the “system becomes alive” direction.

The evidence also clearly distinguishes the Mind’s contributions from the final mechanics and implementation developed under human direction.
