Gameplay Mechanics
Fill and Smash is a falling-block puzzle game. Shapes drop from the top of the board, and you move, rotate, or cycle them (swapping for another unlocked shape) to fit them into glowing floor sockets. Land a piece that matches a socket’s shape exactly, and it shatters into particles — score points and build your combo. Miss the shape, and the piece locks in place as permanent clutter, taking up board space and eating into your limited move count for the level. Controls: arrow keys/WASD to move, up to rotate, C to cycle pieces, down for soft drop, space for hard drop — with full touch controls on mobile.
Key Features
• 100 handcrafted levels across 10 themed chapters
• Progressive shape unlocks — starting with simple dots and dominoes, building up to tricky S- and P-pentominoes
• Boss levels every 10th stage, combining every shape unlocked so far under tighter move limits
• Combo system that rewards consecutive exact matches
• Star rating per level based on moves remaining, plus a persistent best score
• Piece cycling mechanic — swap the current piece for another unlocked shape if it doesn’t fit
• Full keyboard and touch/mobile controls with pause, reset, and mute options
What makes your game stand out
Fill and Smash takes the familiar falling-block format and flips the win condition: instead of clearing lines, you’re solving a spatial puzzle where every socket demands an exact shape match. That constraint forces real planning rather than reflexive stacking — a wrong guess doesn’t just cost you, it physically clutters your board and shrinks your options. The move-limited levels (rather than a timer) keep the pressure on precision over speed, and the chapter-based shape unlocks give the difficulty curve a natural rhythm across all 100 levels.
